What is in the download
The PDF has 8 different 5x5 cards (24 words and a free centre square) on two pages, plus a caller sheet with every word of the list in random order, so you can tick each word you call.
How to play
One player is the caller and the others have a card each. The caller reads a word from the list and ticks it; players who have the word cover it. The first to cover a full line (across, down or diagonal) shouts "Bingo!".
- For a young child, play with a single card and call the words yourself. The aim is to find the word on the card, not to win.
- For a harder game, the caller does not read the word but gives a clue ("It rhymes with cake"), or writes the word on a small whiteboard for only two seconds.
- For a class, play in pairs so that every child reads aloud to a partner.
Which list to use
Choose the list your child knows about 70% of, so the game is a success and the rest is learned from the cards. For a mixed group, play with Pre-Primer and Primer cards first.

Frequently asked questions
+How many cards are in the PDF?
8 different cards, 4 per page, and a caller sheet. Print the PDF again to get a different set: the card layouts change each time you download.
+Are all the cards different?
Yes. Each card has the list words in a different order, so a "Bingo!" is possible on different calls. With only 40 words on a list, some words appear on several cards, which is normal for bingo.
+What can we use to cover the squares?
Buttons, coins, small pieces of paper, or a pencil to put a cross. For reuse, slip the page into a clear plastic sleeve and use a dry-wipe pen.
+Can I play with more than 8 players?
Yes: print the PDF several times. Each download creates a new set of cards.
