What the quiz recommends, goal by goal

The recommendations do not come from a level test: they follow a simple grid, your child's age × the goal you pick. Here it is in plain words, so you know what you will get before you start and can pick the goal that fits your situation.

Writing

Before age 6 the quiz stays on the gesture: pre-writing strokes, the child's name, the alphabet and number tracing. Around 7 it adds spelling and words to copy, then vocabulary, grammar and conjugation from about 9. Pick it if pencil grip, letter shapes or copying worry you.

Reading & Language

At 3 it stays on preparation: pre-writing, the name, the alphabet. From 4 to 6 it adds syllables and phonics, which is work on the sounds in words. At 7–8 it moves to spelling, conjugation and grammar, and from 9 reading comprehension comes first.

Math

At 3–4: shapes, pattern sequences, spatial awareness and the first number tracing. At 5–6: number sense, mental math, column arithmetic and telling time. At 7–8: multiplication tables, column arithmetic and measurements. From 9: fractions and decimals, then proportionality and word problems.

Motivation & Routine

No school subject here: morning and evening routines, a chore chart and diplomas that recognize effort. From 6 the weekly planner joins the list, and it comes first from 8. Pick it when homework or bedtime turns into a tug of war.

Learning through play

From age to school level

Once you have picked a goal, the quiz converts the age into a grade of the French school system and offers the page for that grade:

A note on languages: the spelling, vocabulary, syllable and phonics worksheets are available in English; the grammar, conjugation and reading comprehension worksheets are in French.

Is the quiz really free?

100% free, no sign-up required. The recommended tools appear without typing anything; if you leave an email address, the selection is also sent to you by email.

How long does it take?

About 30 seconds. Two questions are enough: your child's age and your main goal. The email address is optional.

Do I have to give my email address?

No. On the last step, the "View tools without email" link shows the recommended tools straight away. The email is only there to send you that selection as a message.

My child is ahead of or behind their age: which age should I pick?

Pick the age that matches the level you are aiming for, not necessarily the real age: the quiz only follows the age × goal grid, it does not measure your child's level. You can also open a grade page directly from the list above.

Can I retake the quiz with a different goal?

Yes, as many times as you like. If your child progresses or your priority shifts (say, from writing to math), retake the quiz for fresh recommendations.

What if no tool matches perfectly?

The quiz always recommends the closest matches to your profile, but you can also freely browse all 40+ tools on the Tools page to fine-tune your own choice.
