Frequently asked questions
Which calculations in Grade 1?
Additions and subtractions with results from 1 to 9, or a mix. Multiplication is only offered at the Grade 3 level. The sheet is the same at Grade 1 and Grade 2: only the level written in the header changes.
How does the child know they made a mistake?
Each zone of the picture carries a number, the expected result, and the legend gives the colour of each number. A result that matches no zone, or a colour that looks wrong, signals a mistake.
Can I make several different sheets?
Yes: the “Regenerate” button changes the series of calculations and three pictures are available. For bigger numbers, use the Grade 1 mental math worksheets.
My child cannot subtract yet, what can I do?
Choose “Additions”: the Grade 1 level lets you practise addition only. Move on to subtraction or the mix when the child is comfortable.
Can I customize this worksheet with a different theme?
